A little bit about MB

Michael grew up just outside Albany NY and began working at a young age at his family’s deli, Roma’s, arranging bread and eventually running the cash register until his passion for competitive swimming claimed his free time and weekends. After receiving a BA in Creative Writing & minor in Communications at Tufts University, Michael spent 20+ years in Marketing — basically by accident — after landing his first “real” job as a Marketing Assistant at Cranium (games, books, and toys), followed by a couple years at community-focused startups in Seattle.

For 13 years after that, Michael worked across Marketing at Google — leading Product and Brand campaigns and eventually running Operations for social — in addition to developing wellbeing initiatives and workshops, and coaching internal clients as part of Google's Guru+ program.

Following a bit of a “why am I so unfulfilled while working at one of the best companies in the world” identity crisis in early 2018, Michael discovered that only he was in charge of his career and life, and after taking a good hard look at what really lit him up, realized that after two decades of marketing to people, he really wanted to find a way to work more directly with people.

That spring he completed his coaching certification (CPCC) from the Co-Active Training Institute, and has since been helping his clients discover or dust off their inner potential and make the impact they want to have on their lives, careers, and relationships. In November of 2020, Michael also completed certification as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

In July of 2023 Michael finally melted down the “golden handcuffs” and resigned from Google to focus on finding out what’s possible when he focuses his full attention and energy on helping folks live and work authentically by expanding his coaching practice.

Michael lives in the Berkshires (MA) at The Filomena, a 19th century rectory that he and his husband Nick renovated and run as an occasional AirBnB and photoshoot destination.
